Marko Kac is Partner & Country Director DAMSON Group (Slovenia). Marko has more than 20 years of executive experience in the fields of connecting private and public sector, EU programmes and public administration. He has been CEO and senior consultant of Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship where he led the organization in the areas of sustainable tourism, smart and competitive rural areas, strategic and operational planning, business modelling, business consulting, sustainable and regional development, digital transformations, marketing & PR and EU programmes. Marko has also been CEO of Inovo Ltd. where he was responsible for BPM consulting and strategic planning and development. He was also International Projects Manager with Styrian Technology Park where he managed projects in the areas of innovation and entrepreneurship, technological development, smart rural areas, business modelling and EU programmes. Earlier, Marko worked with Maribor Development Agency as Senior Project Manager and external expert for tourism, and with OeAR Regionalbertung GmbH as Tourism Expert.

Marko's core expertise include project management, strategic planning, sustainable development (sustainable development goals, smart specialisation, Nature 2000), regional development (strategic and action planning, management and coordination of priority regional actions), rural development (sustainable local food supply chains, smart and competitive rural areas, smart villages, smart farms), sustainable tourism (management and marketing of tourism destinations, development of tourist products), innovation and entrepreneurship (business modelling and planning, business consulting, business networks and clusters), PR & marketing and networking with broad range of international experiences within the EU and pre-accession countries.

Marko is doing Master in Social Gerontology at Alma Mater Europaea - ECM University. He graduated with Business Management degree and also has been Economist with associate's degree in tourism from University of Maribor.
